IST METZ soon had its very own ideas about the design and performance of UV lamps as they present the heart of any UV-system for curing inks, varnishes, silicones and adhesives where only top quality guarantees optimal performance and long life. Today the company stands for the latest UV-technology, quality management and almost 40 years of experience. All key components of their versatile range of UV curing systems are developed and manufactured in house. With around 500 employees and 14 subsidiaries worldwide IST METZ is one of the main UV equipment suppliers.
An essential component of a UV-curing system is the UV lamp which emits the actual UV radiation. Depending on the lamp's size the annealing- and operating phase require ignition- and operating voltages of several thousand volts that are supplied by so-called electronic ballasts. However, those ballasts also take on other tasks such as power control of the dimming range, state detection or the supply of cooling air.
All of these requirements were realized in a single connection between the ballast and the UV lamp. For Series-MOD is a highly flexible and configurable modular system in which we can combine high voltage transmission with all sorts of other connectivity tasks like - in the case of IST METZ – with additional power-, pneumatic- and control signal transmission.
